About Us
One of the oldest, first and most loved restaurants of Delhi in Connaught Place, United Coffee House has proudly been at the forefront of Indian restaurant culture, redefining the paradigms of taste and culinary appreciation with evolving times.
First opening our doors in the year 1942 with a 5-page continental menu, bringing culinary taste from various places and food enthusiasts from variegated walks of life to one place, UCH has lived an age of evolution through the times imbibing the signatures of the passing eras.
Ever since our inception, we have been a meeting place of diverse characteristics, of uniting thoughts. Frequented by artists, intellectuals, travellers, poets, and businessmen of the city, UCH has been a place where the local intelligentsia, food aficionados, and coffee connoisseurs exchanged thoughts and indulged in conversations over cups of original Kona coffee accompanied by our signature delights.
Continuing our 80 year old legacy, UCH is still a meeting place of cultures and cuisine, with the aroma of coffee and savouries filling the air, a modern day escape to the colonial Raj era in all its glory!
Legacy
At UCH, memory is a powerful thing. When we look eight decades back, we are filled with unforgettable moments and an unparalleled sense of pride that brought us to this stage.
Opening its doors in 1942, the year of the Quit India Movement, UCH was envisioned by the late Lala Hansraj Kalra not as a mere restaurant but a space that brought together different walks of life, culture, and thought. So with a slice of the continent on its menu, UCH began its legacy of uniting and shaping a new culture in Delhi. Throughout its long history, the tables of UCH have been crowded with writers, artists, lawyers, journalists, actors, affluent businessmen, philanthropists, travellers, politicians, and bureaucrats from all walks of life.
